Essential Oils of the Earth
Oregano - Origanum vulgare
Oregano has been used for over 2,500 years. Used by Hippocrates, the Greek physician of ancient times (and the father of Western medicine) used Oregano as an antiseptic. The Greeks used it extensively to combat skin infections, sore throats and viral infections. The Chinese have used it for viral infections, parasites and fungal infections.
Oregano oil is also a powerful antibiotic and has shown in dozens of studies that it can be used along with, or as an alternative to, antibiotics.
It is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and has been shown to be extremely effective against MRSA and Staph. It is also useful for skin conditions, wound healing, acne, and nail fungus.
Caution: Avoid use during pregnancy. Do not use on infants and small children. Always dilute with a carrier oil. If taking internally for infection or illness, put 3 drops into a capsule with equal parts of olive oil and do not use for more than 10 days. After 10 days, wait one week before continuing.
