Essential Oils of the Earth
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Rosemary Oil use goes back centuries, to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks. They believed Rosemary could prevent the spread of illness and disease and indeed, it has many therapeutic and medicinal properties including being active and effective against certain pathogenic bacteria and drug-resistant mutants of E. coli. The Egyptians and Greeks were definitely on to something!
Today, Rosemary Essential Oil is often used to strengthen and help grow and thicken hair. It also has been shown over time to assist the body in balancing both hormones and blood sugar levels.
Diffusing Rosemary has been shown in studies to improve cognitive performance and mood. It can also provide memory support and increase alertness. Simply diffuse 3-5 drops per 200 ml in a diffuser.
Rosemary Essential Oil is also a natural expectorant, and can help reduce mucus and relieve respiratory symptoms. Apply to the chest (dilute first) or diffuse to help thin and expel mucus.
Great for helping reduce muscle and joint pain, Rosemary's natural inflammation cooling properties provide the power to help with pain and inflammation due to over-use and arthritis. Combine with Peppermint and mix with coconut oil or jojoba oil and rub on affected area.
